What Really Changes People?

CHURCH FOR CHURCH LEADERS

Dear Pastor. Dear Leader. Dear Child of God... Don't miss the spring time! Get outside. Get with God. Turn off your phone. Look your loved ones in the face for more than a moment. Listen to the voice of the Lord that comforts and corrects.

HOSEA 3
Come, let us return to the LORD; for he has torn us, that he may heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bind us up. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him. Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD; his going out is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth.

To lie back under the tallest,
oldest trees. How far the stems
rise, rise before ribs of shelter open!

EQUIPPING THE CHURCH

What really changes people? At the intersection of discipleship and neuroscience, it is suggested that there are four key nutrients in providing healthy soil for spiritual growth in a community.

  • When we build JOY together, we awaken the relational half of church that our busy culture squeezes out of our lives.

  • When we pursue HESED (loving, practical attachment to God and one another), we function as a spiritual family rather than a theoretical notion.

  • When we lean into a GROUP IDENTITY around the character of Christ, we respond to life's circumstances from a place of security in God's Kingdom.

  • When we discover how to walk in HEALTHY CORRECTION, we ensure what grows from our community is fruitful and not just a bunch of weeds.
