Power in Prayer | PART 2 / 2

Jim Maxim, Acts 4:13 Ministries

[1:58] Going to church and not seeing the power of prayer

[3:03] Prayer is a privilege of presence and practical value.

[4:30] My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

[6:30] One of the greatest sins in the universe is us devaluing our ability to talk with God.

[7:40] Pushing the Holy Spirit out of our sermons; the need to regain reverence.

[10:00] Put your notes away and start praying.

[14:00] Pray over the small, simple, and intimate places. God is not God just over the Church or religion, but over the whole universe.

[15:15] God created you for the people around you.

[17:50] But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. (Matthew 6:6)

[21:10] If my people, who are called by my name, build big building, raise a lot of money, and get PHDs...

[22:15] During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. (Hebrews 5:7)
